The Programme is open to anyone wanting to start up a full or part-time business. The initiative provides access to an experienced advisor who will offer guidance and advice of the viability of the business idea.
Fermanagh Enterprise – Steps to Work Programme
Steps to Work Self-Employed Option is a government Programme aimed at assisting and encouraging people in receipt of benefits to start their own business. Under the Steps to Work Programme, participants can establish and run their own business for 6 months while continuing to remain in receipt of their benefits. As well as this financial help, participants will also be appointed a business advisor who will mentor them during this period.
Fermanagh Enterprise – Exploring Enterprise Programme
Exploring Enterprise Programme is a pre-start enterprise Programme with the objective of increasing awareness and offering training and development to potential entrepreneurs from disadvantaged communities and under-represented groups. The Programme provides an insight into starting a business whilst allowing participants to work towards achieving a Level II for Understanding Business Enterprise.
Fermanagh Enterprise – Incubator Workspace Management
A fundamental aspect of the role of Fermanagh Enterprise Ltd in promoting economic development in the County is the provision of Incubator Workspace suited to start-up and growing small businesses. The Company owns and manages over 53,000 sq ft of workspace at its headquarters at Enniskillen Business Centre, Lackaghboy which currently accommodates 37 small businesses. The Organisation has recently acquired a further 23,000 sq ft at Killyhevlin Industrial Estate. The property is a former Northern Ireland Water site, constructed in 1993 to a very high specification. The site comprises of 3.5 acres with extensive parking space and is secured by a 10ft high fence and gates. There are both office and industrial units available to suit all requirements starting from as little as £27 per week + VAT inclusive of light and heat.

UCIT lend to community organisations, charities and social enterprises, both large and small, located in Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland. In addition to providing finance, UCIT aim to help social enterprises access appropriate business development support.
E Synergy Ltd/ Spin Out Funds
The Northern Ireland Spin Out (NISPO) initiatives support start-up and early stage businesses in Northern Ireland. The support includes a £7 million venture capital fund, the Invest Growth Fund, which is provided by Invest Northern Ireland and focuses on seed and early stage businesses with high growth potential. NISPO also includes a £5 million proof of concept fund, the Invest Growth Proof of Concept Fund, which is funded by Invest Northern Ireland to provide funding to very early, non-university projects.
